Record Penalty for Google Cause of Tracking Apple Users

Google is facing the biggest Penalty From the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), had launched that was 22.5 million USD cause of the illegal acts of interference in the security settings of Safari – the default browser on the iPhone , iPad.

5 months ago, the Wall Street Journal reported that Google is secretly set cookies to change the user’s web browser on both desktop and mobile of Apple.

In default mode, Safari only accept cookies from sites that users visit or from the content they really click. Meanwhile, advertisers can not save cookies on the user’s device.

To overcome this security, Google used its own code to create the blank form for DoubleClick ad system to deceive Safari browser is not blocking cookies. Since then, the company can analyze the habit of Apple users to serve for their advertisements purpose. After being discovered, they quickly disable this code and explained that this was inadvertent, unintended.

Final results have not been announced, but Wall Street Journal said the FTC and Google have agreed to this amount.

This penalty amount is not really trouble for Google base on the profit of the search service last year. However, the notoriety of Google will be increasing and the believe of the users will be much decreasing.
